Class Descriptions

Growing Spiritually

The God Who Weeps—Terryl & Fiona Givens
Presenting some insight into the nature of God—a God who loves us and wants us to succeed, who fashioned the earth as a “place of human ascent, not exile, who has the desire to bring the whole human family home again”.

Growing as a Parent

Toby Anderson
This will be a class on gospel influenced parenting. With so many ideas in our world, about what makes a good parent, many of us are confused about how to discipline and how to parent our children. We will ask and answer the question "how does Heavenly Father parent us"? Using that awareness and the scriptures, we will identify present day parenting skills that will help strive to match our Heavenly Father's parenting style.

Growing a Glowing Skin

Ashley Amos
Have you ever wanted to have a more radiant, glowing skin? This class will teach you how to more effectively cleanse you face, the differences between pharmaceutical and store bought products as well as the benefits of exfoliates and moisturizers. Handouts will be given on ways to do facials at home.

Growing in Serenity

Sandy Willis
Tai Chi is a gentle exercise that is often referred to as meditation in motion. It is a powerful form of therapy that allows the mind and the body to express themselves while enabling the spirit to discover itself. It improves health, increases energy, reduces stress, expands patience, induces relaxation, and leads to serenity.

Growing in Service

Monique Morrison
There is nothing more comforting than a warm quilt and nothing could express a more comforting love than a handmade quilt. For centuries women have gathered around quilts to create something uniquely beautiful and necessary for survival. This class will teach the skill of setting up quilts on frames and then tying the quilts. A handmade quilt is a heartfelt gift and a loving act of service for someone. Come and learn the wonderful skill of quilt tying.

Growing in Sewing

Pam Deakins
A beginning sewing class that allows you to have fun while learning some simple skills. Show off to your friends the tote bag you made. Carry it as a forever reminder that you really can do what you thought you couldn't. Material provided. Class will take 2 sessions.

Growing Organized or Getting your Ducks in a Row

Suzie Romans
This class will talk about the who, what, when, how and why getting organized can be a great blessing in your life. We will talk about how making a few changes can change your life for the better and how to manage all the paper and tasks in your life, as well as learning about some tools and resources that are available to you.
